  Tyler Adams, AFC Bournemouth's midfield dynamo, surprised fans by announcing the club's squad for the TST 7v7 tournament on social media. The lineup includes Cherries legends Simon Francis, Tommy Elphick, and Shaun Cooper.

  This comes after the Cherries, co-owner Michael B. Jordan and Adams revealed that the club would be taking part in the tournament earlier this season. The announcement came with a Marvel-esque reveal as the three legends stepped out of a portal ring akin to the one used by Dr. Strange.

  The inclusion of Francis, Elphick, and Cooper in the TST 7v7 squad highlights Bournemouth's commitment to honoring its history while competing in modern football formats. This is, however, not the full squad as it is a 7v7 tournament, and thus, the Cherries still have to announce four more players.

• WHAT’S NEXT?

  The Soccer Tournament will only kick off in late May at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.

  The Men’s group will play between June 4 and 5 in the first round, which is followed by the Round of 32 and the Round of 16 on June 6 – and then the quarterfinals and semifinals on June 7 and 8. The final will be held on June 9 for both the men’s and the women’s tournaments.
